(Summary of Friday Sermon)

After having greeted everybody with the Salutations of Peace, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and then he said:

وَذَرِ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ دِينَهُمْ لَعِبًا وَلَهْوًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا

“Let those who take religion as a play and fun, the life of this temporal world has blinded them.” (Chapter 6 Verse 71)
The sexual revolution sweeping the world since the 60s, still today continues to wreak havoc. And modern man is prostrated before the new “god” of sex that reduces its adherent to the animal level.
Islam, the perfect moral code for all mankind, protects man against misery and social ills. If we do not take it into account, we will inevitably suffer from all these evils which come from the west and which enter our society under the cloak of civilisation, liberation, emancipation of women etc.
Islam prevents things that are very harmful to social health and it protects humans against moral, social and cultural degradation. However, means such as pornography, dancing, nudity, eroticism, indecency, night clubs, beauty pageants, immoral films, unethical and daring literature used by the enemies of the religion God have a single goal: to break our spiritual ideal, hindering the smooth running of a pious and healthy society.
Each member in the Ummah of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) must not be fooled, tempted or trapped by these cultural and religious poisons. On the contrary, he is duty-bound to supervise, control and finally to reject these nonsense that infect almost every family, every community and every society.
Today, the Media, supported in a mean way by commercial interests, try little by little to make this evil which sex abuse represents, infiltrate our homes. The windows of video stores, the cover of certain magazines and other periodicals, daring and provocative photos of some newspapers and advertising posters show how the Infernal Sex Machine is at its peak and demeans us every day.

Is not it high time to assume our responsibility and our duty to protect members of our society, especially our children and young people against these satanic temptations? The child is far from knowing all the tricks and traps of Satan and that of his followers. More than anyone, they need to be constantly protected against these deadly and shameless foes. Thus, parents should remember that Allah has indeed entrusted to them the education of His young servants so that they are be well guided and protected. Our duty is not only to do good, but also to prevent evil. Disobedience, evil – when it is not held secret harm no one except its author. But if it is made public and is not recovered, it relates to the entire community.

Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: They asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) whether a village containing virtuous men might perish. “Yes,” replied he, “and why? They asked him then. “Because of their indulgence of their silence regarding the acts of disobedience to Allah.”
However, the believer has no right to let others dirty him. Staying with veiled eyes, mouth shut, and hands folded in front of evil shows how our Imaan (faith) is weak, especially with what happens with children playing hooky, (adults and children) playing for money in clubs and concerning law, with the equalisation of the sexes.
The least we can do is prevent these evils that spread across the street, in hotels, casinos, night clubs etc., from entering into our society because if we do not succeed, then we may as well consider ourselves as living dead. It is high time for us to wake from our sleep and warn against satanic temptations whose only strength, whose only power is to call us towards evil. The calls coming from Satan go through our sense organs, and especially through our ears and our eyes. Through our ears, he breathes in us bad suggestions, and makes us false promises; he tells us lies, vulgarities, insults, he leads us to disobedience and evil. He presents before our eyes, nice and attractive things which are completely forbidden (Haraam) to trap us; he presents to us indecent, ugly, immoral things to soil and belittle us and he (Satan) shows us bad men to lead us to imitate them in disobedience to our Supreme Creator and his beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) – for example, through bad commercials, films (actors, actresses) and so on.
Have we the right to forget cities like Sodom and Gomorrah that were destroyed by Allah because of the acts of immorality committed by their inhabitants? Can we forget how AIDS has emerged because of the evil committed by man on the earth of his Creator? And if we continue to violate the laws of God and disobey His Messenger, shall we not also witness the collapse of our community, if not our whole society?

“And, when they (the unbelievers) forgot that of which they were reminded, we saved those who were forbidding evil, and seized the evildoers with an evil punishment for that which they used to do of evil.” (Chapter 7, Verse 166).
Ordering good and forbidding evil is one of the greatest principles of Islam. This is the great mission for which Allah has created all His prophets. If this great principle is ruled out, if we neglect science and its implementation, the prophecy, the divine message would be irretrievably compromised, religiosity would disappear, liberality would be widespread, error would be propagated, ignorance spread, the gulf widening further, the country, the world would be ruined and men would perish without realising that destruction except on the day of resurrection. May Allah protect us from all this, Ameen.
