Friday Sermon

HAZRAT AMIR’UL MOMENEEN MUHYI-UD-DIN
AL KHALIFATULLAH

Munir Ahmad Azim

15 January 2010

(29 Muharram 1431 Hijri)

(Summary of Friday Sermon)

After having greeted everybody with the Salutations of Peace, the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and then he said:

We have seen in previous sermons and discourses that Allah chooses whomsoever He wants to raise as Prophet or I may say now Prophet in the footstep of the best of mankind Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him). Allah chooses someone whose faith in Allah is solid and can face all hurdles of life, especially in the face of persecutions, blames and difficulties which arise in the Messenger of Allah’s path. Many people, especially Muslims now consider the door of “prophethood” close, but the coming of the Promised Messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and this humble one after the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) witness that prophets have come in the past, one is present before you today and others shall come in the future in the pure religion of Islam: their task being the revival of Islam – the same teachings brought by the Seal of all prophets Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him).

When a prophet of God comes down on earth to fulfil his mission, people are expected from Allah to believe in this prophet and to follow the divine prescriptions brought by him. These people are not meant to be only Muslims but people from other religions such as Christians, Hindus, Jews, and other religions. The prophet comes as a gatherer and not as a divider. He comes to promote peace and love for Allah, but unfortunately opponents of the prophet of Allah and the hypocrites very often misunderstand him and label him as of hot temper, as a divider and not a gatherer. They use every weapon available to find fault in the prophet so that they may have the upper-hand on him and render him weak; powerless.

We have a picture of main persecutions and blames on prophets of Allah in the examples of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (on him be peace). It is the close ones of prophets who persecute them, and give them bad names. This humble one also has not been spared from the mockeries of enemies of Islam and enemies of divine revelations.

Prophets come to guide mankind towards one God ~ Allah the Supreme Being, Creator of the heavens and earth. Their call is heard only by a section of the common people, and a section of the rich – not the boastful among the rich. They strive to give the message of the unity of Allah for as long as they live, regardless of the persecutions encountered. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is known to have gone through all sorts of hurdles which he borne with extreme patience, love and good feeling. The kindness he showed to strangers of other religions also is exemplary. Once, the people of Najran who were Christians came to visit him upon hearing his call to the unity of God. When the time of prayer of the Christians came, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) offered them his Mosque to perform their prayer, regardless the fact that they were idolaters. This shows respect for others’ religions. When a Muslim learns to respect the religion of others, the latter would then not have the ground to ridicule Islam, the religion of Allah.

Once the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was with his wife Aisha (May Allah be satisfied with her) when they encountered some Jews. These people started sending curse on the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Prophet then replied them in a short phrase meaning the same curse be upon them. But his wife angrily replied them (not paying attention that her husband has already replied them), and started abusing the Jews who had had the courage to issue such curse on the Prophet. But the Prophet (peace be upon him) stopped her and indicated her that he had already returned them their curse in a short phrase.

The reference of it is found in the following Hadith:

Narrated ‘Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet): A group of Jews entered upon the Prophet and said, “As-Samu-Alaikum.” (that is, death be upon you). I understood it and said, “Wa-Alaikum As-Samu wal-la’n.” (death and the curse of Allah be upon you). Allah’s Apostle said “Be calm, O ‘Aisha! Allah loves that one, should be kind and lenient in all matters.” I said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Haven’t you heard what they (the Jews) have said?” Allah’s Apostle said “I have (already) said (to them) “And upon you!” (Bukhari)

Thus, we see from this Hadith that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was calm in even hot moments. Despite his calmness, he gave these Jews a befitting reply to their curse.

Likewise, prophets have not been sent to their respective people or mankind as someone who curse them, but there are exemptions to the rule. Like I mentioned last week, even prophets such as Jesus, David and Noah (on them be peace) cursed their people after extreme disobedience and infidelity.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came for all nations, be them Christians, Hindus, Pagans, Zoroastrians and so on. He came as a Reviver of past teachings of all prophets – The Holy Quran bears witness to this. He came as a unifier, an ultimate guide for all religions, perfecting them in Islam. Thus, this humble one also has come to make a divided world into a united world, all mankind as one for the worship of Allah. But it is to be expected; missions of prophets have never been easy and never will be. So, we in the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam must be ready come what may to give our life for Islam, for the religion of our beloved Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him). Let us focus on our aim, that is, to make people know Allah and not us! We are but a means to an end. Allah is the First and the Last. We have the duty to vehicle people towards their goal – Allah. Ours is not an easy task. Like I mentioned in my sermon of 01 January 2010, we shall have serious difficulties but when the victory of Islam shall come, it must be us the most humble; humble in spirit and body. We have the examples of Mahroom Seid Ahmad, Azize Azim and Adam Domun who died for a cause – the cause of Allah. Once they accepted the divine manifestation, they remained firm and did not waver in their belief about this humble one. They all received clear signs about the truth of divine revelations in this era, through the advent of this humble one. Allah took their lives while they were still firm believers and this indeed is a great blessing!

May Allah give you all the opportunity and blessings to die for Islam in complete submission to Allah (Exalted is He). Prophets of Allah have had soldiers of Islam in their ranks. May all of you become really sincere in your attestation of faith in Allah and oath of allegiance to this humble one. Those dear ones who have departed from this world will be always remembered for their exceptional sacrifices. They were real gems making shine the true teachings of Islam. Our aim now is follow their lead and embrace death in state of complete submission to Allah. So, O my people, O members of Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam and O humanity, I have come for you all to make you taste the sweetness of faith, to reveal to you the secrets of proximity to Allah so that you also may come to witness the truth of revelations. I recall some of the last words (which he heard in a dream) of one of my disciples, who have departed from this world, saying: “All truth (which we witnessed in the Divine Manifestation of this era) is found in “Haqiqatul Wahy” – that is, all truth is found in the truth of divine revelations sent upon this humble one. This is an indication for him that before he leaves this world, Allah showed him that he was on the right path, when he believed in the Divine Manifestation and took the oath of allegiance in my hands as the Muhyi-ud-Din of this era.

Thus, never waver away from your goal, to make ISLAM the ultimate religion for all nations and people. Even though its teachings are there, but we have to instil their fragrance in their heart; only then will we find peace from Allah and a special satisfaction. Now the time has come, “diamond will cut diamond” (like Allah revealed to me so many times). Thus, let’s wait and see, our faith and trust being always in Allah. Ameen.
